| With a population of 4,530 (2005 estimate), the Village of Waterford is one of the fastest growing communities in the state of Wisconsin. If the town of Waterford (6,375) is included in the area, nearly 11,000 people make their home here. Waterford is a much sought-after area due to its rural feel, the beautiful Fox River/Tichigan Lake waterway, its excellent school system, and proximity to Milwaukee (just 35 minutes from downtown Milwaukee). The school system features both public and private schools. In 2006, Waterford celebrated its 100 years of incorporation. Through its very active Chamber of Commerce, Waterford is the host each year to a sizable Home and Commerce Show (about 180 exhibitors each year) held in the spring, the Full Moon 4-Miler Run/Walk Race usually held in late July, the Holiday Tour of Homes (early December), and two parades (July 4th and Christmas). The Waterford area also has a tasty variety of eating establishments including restaurants that specialize in American, seafood, Mexican, Chinese, Italian and Thai foods. Several fast foods restaurants also make their home here. When it comes to finding a place to stay, the area features two motels (AmericInn and Baymont) and three bed and breakfasts. Downtown Waterford features a number of specialty shops, with more extensive shopping readily available within a 10-30 minute drive. The Aurora Health Center has recently more than doubled the size of its clinic in Waterford. The Waterford Rivermen, a semi-pro baseball team, play their home games in Whitford Park. The Rivermen yearly are among the top teams in their league and have won a number of championships. All in all, we think you will love Waterford should you choose it for your home. |
